The nationally renowned Cincinnati Playhouse in The Park has served the tristate area since 1959. For ten months of each year, more than 190,000 visitors enjoy classic and contemporary works, including live musicals, comedies, dramas and recent hits, as well as educational and outreach programs.
The Challenge
With two theaters under one roof and sometimes simultaneous intermissions, speed and efficiency of wait personnel are critical. Unfortunately, a slow payment processing solution made it almost impossible to serve up to 800 thirsty patrons in 15 minutes. Theater management was constantly flooded with customer service complaints.
The Solution

Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth, 3G connectivity and a built-in printer offer mobility, while dual touch screens make customer interactions and checkout easy. Like all Elavon solutions, the Poynt Smart Terminal is equipped with Elavon’s Safe-T™ technology that includes chip-card acceptance, encryption, tokenization, and is PCI compliant.
The Results
The Cincinnati Playhouse in The Park significantly increased the number of customers served and reduced wait times and labor costs with streamlined transaction processing. As a result, they were able to increase overall customer satisfaction.
